About Me

Thanks for visiting Paws in Praise! My name is Serena George and I am a Catholic woman studying veterinary medicine. Making it through a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Professional Zoology and Environmental Studies only to take on four more years of veterinary medical school has demanded resilient hope, persistent strength and continual renewal that I can only find in Jesus Christ. Drawing from my experiences in veterinary school, it is my hope that Christian veterinary students, graduate students in the sciences, interested pre-vet students, and all the animal lovers out there might find a little inspiration through this blog as to how to recognize and continually praise our Lord as we undertake the humble tasks of each day. If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed, here’s a place you can come to take a pause in praise of our almighty, loving Creator.

My inspiration

My mom, who works in the field of communications, raised me as a Catholic. My dad, who works in the field of dentistry, raised me as a scientist. My older sister, Leanna, grew up alongside me, teaching me to be authentic. This blog has been a long time in the making with their love and support.

Last but not least, you can’t know me without knowing my family’s dogs, so meet the darling Paws In Praise models…
