Customizable Ink and Wash Drawings
I learned the technique of ink and wash during an art class at Ohio Wesleyan University taught by Professor Frank Hobbs. When I studied wildlife management for a semester in Tanzania, I created an art journal by representing each day with an ink and wash drawing. Drawing became a fun way for me to incorporate my creative side into my zoology coursework. Now, I love to draw personalized pet portraits and handmade cards for people. If you are interested, email me with a photograph, requested size, and any specifications you would like me to incorporate into the drawing! Price varies depending on size, and all proceeds go toward my very costly out-of-state veterinary student loans 🙂

Meet Alex Medina, my talented friend and former classmate/coworker who has created her own line of veterinary designs on Redbubble! You will see her artwork featured throughout blog posts on Paws in Praise. She says, “I am an Ohio State Veterinary Student who loves to draw and read in my free time. I have never considered myself much of an artist, even now the word still seems so foreign to me, as if it is reserved for individuals like Frida Kahlo or Vincent Van Gogh. My drawings started out as simple doodles during class, little designs that I tucked away in an unlabeled folder. Then, a long forgotten memory popped into my head of Serena telling me how artists could sell their work on redbubble and have their designs printed on a range of products. On a whim, I uploaded a few of my designs, and my silly little doodles ended up becoming way more than I could have ever imagined! I want to create art that inspires people within the veterinary field, and incorporates all of the unique specialties there are. The logo for Paws in Praise is a digitized image of a wooden cross sold by Puzzimals on Etsy.
